Plus Size Bras - How to Fit Your Bra CorrectlyNow that you’ve found the style of bra you want in the size range you need, the next step is finding the correct size for your plus size bra. There are no two women alike and as such, standard measurements don’t always work. The styles of our plus size bras are all slightly different and therefore, so are the measurements. If you are not able to visit us then please feel free to call us for online support to ensure you take your measurements correctly. Being fitted by trained specialists will make a world of difference to your comfort level and look.
There are 2 measurements required to correctly fit your bra.1. Ensure you have your best fitting bra on at the time (no padded, sports or minimisers). Using a soft measuring tape, measure around your back and under your bust – this will give you your band size. Note: please ensure you keep the measuring tape quite tight but not uncomfortable. If you measure 40” then that means you’re a size 18 (see chart below).
2. To find your Cup Size, use the tape measure around the fullest part of the bust – ensuring you are wearing a bra. If your measurement is 44” then you are a Size 40 with a cup size of D (refer chart below) How did we make that calculation? We already measured you as a Size 40 (Size 18) Your measurement around the bust equalled 44” Therefore Band Size = 40” – Bust measurement of 44” = 4” The 4” difference equals a ‘D’ Cup as per the chart reference below.
Fitting Advice Finding and buying a plus size bra that fits properly is one of the most important and difficult things to do. We understand that not everyone has access to qualified fitters and therefore need to fit themselves.
